The open mic stage is making its return this year featuring local musicians. the open mic stage is located at the rear of the street fair across from the beer garden. Come out, grab a brew and listen to some great tunes.

David Bolles - 12:00 - 12:15

Resident of Califon for six years and playing guitar since age 12, Dave will be performing the original song " Where I Belong" written for the Califon Centennial last year and a few original tunes to start things off and get things going.

Ty Tansung - 12:25 - 12:55

Ty is singer/songwriter from Califon, and he will be performing a number of cover songs including Change by Alex G, Static Buzz by Snail Mail, Still Together by Mac Demarco, Sunflower by Rex Orange County, This is Home by Cave Town, Crooked Teeth by Death Cab for Cutie and Poison Oak by Bright Eyes. He will also be performing an original composition showcasing his songwriting skills. Ty is working toward getting some music up on Spotify by the end of the summer. When we get the links , we will post them.

Kearstan Brothers - 1:05 - 1:35

The Kearstan Brothers (Josh, Sam & Matt) hail from Long Valley and began performing together a couple of years ago with songs that range from rock, alternative, country and Americana. They have recently begun to add original music to their performances and utilize guitar, bass, keys, cello, mandolin and percussion into their performances.They seek to provide a heartfelt and emotional musical experience with every performance. This will be their third time performing at the Open Mic. Their music can be found on YouTube and Instagram @kearstanbros

Dave Gove - 1:45 - 2:15

Dave Gove hails from High Bridge and is a talented Singer/Guitarist.This is Dave's second time at the Open Mic. He is presently a member of two bands - The Long Hill String Band which performs old time country music and Blackbeard and the Northern Rebels, a local rock and roll outfit. Both bands have performed at High Bridge’s Concerts on the Commons.    Dave welcomes the opportunity to perform some of his original solo efforts and rock favorites and to have a good time doing it. Jay & Company - 2:25 - 2:55

Jay Ruggiero has lived in Califon for almost 2 years and has been playing guitar for over 20 years. He’s been in multiple bands doing an east cost tour in the Winter of 2004 with the band The Letdown. Most recently Jay was a founding member of the band Hammond which played the 2011 Union Country MusicFest which billed national touring bands Collective Soul, Blondie and Southside Johnny. Jay’s set will include hits from the 60’s through the 2000’s, ranging from classic rock to modern rock as well as several original songs.

Local musicians Dave Bolles (guitar/vocal),Dave Brown (electric bass) mostly known for playing under the dirtgroove name, together with Karen Cubberly (violin), Alyssa Reaves (vocals) and Mike Reaves (drummer and multi instrumentalist) banded together in March of this year to make some noise on a 5 song demo CD titled "Califonic". Jason Beard - 3:45 - 4:00 PM

Jason Beard will be the closing act for the Open Mike Stage on Sunday at the Califon Street Fair October 13th. Jason sings, plays guitar and is a drummer too ! Jason is a long time citizen and supporter of everything Califon, especially the Street Fair and will be slinging a quiver full of popular cover songs.
